A bereaved Tina Turner on son Ronnie Turner’s death: 'You left the world far too early'

It is a tragic day for legendary singer Tina Turner and her family as she mourns the loss of her son Ronnie Turner.

On Thursday, Ronnie Turner died at his residence from an undisclosed medical emergency, as reported by TMZ. In another news report by PEOPLE, it was stated that the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has confirmed the same t the magazine and revealed that police officers responded to Turner's address in Encino, Calif., on Thursday morning for a death investigation involving a male, though the spokesperson could not confirm the man's identity.

In an Instagram post, Ronnie’s bereaved mother Tina Turner spoke about the sorrow she is experiencing from the passing of her son, saying:

“Ronnie, you left the world far too early. In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son.”

Ronnie's wife and French singer Afida Turner also took to Instagram to honour his memory, calling him ‘an angel’. In a second post, Afida has mentioned Ronnie being diagnosed with cancer and losing his life in three weeks. However, no official statement has been released on the cause of his death yet.

Ronnie Turner was the son of Tina and and Ike Turner. He was a musician and had played in both his mother and father’s bands and had also worked with a band named Manufactured Funk. Ronnie’s father Ike passed away in 2007.
