Yami Gautam’s new crime thriller, A Thursday, has certainly sent fans into a tizzy. Even though it has been released today, fans have already started flocking to Twitter with their opinions about the film, and most of them are overwhelmingly positive.
Users lauded the film for its excellent story, writing and acting, with many, making special mention of the director Behzad Khambata’s excellent direction. Many viewers remarked how they got emotional watching the film, with one even remarking that it should have gotten a theatrical release. Even Boney Kapoor joined them in heaping praise on the film, saying how it will leave viewers ‘spellbound’.
Viewers were in particular left in awe at how the film handled such an ‘important’ subject, saying that it was something that needed attention and that every Indian should watch the film.
The film’s cast was showered with praise for their powerful performances. The portrayals of Yami Gautam and Karanvir Sharma, in particular, were singled out by netizens. A Thursday follows the story of a kindergarten teacher who holds a class full of toddlers hostage and threatens to harm them unless the police give in to her demands. In addition to Gautam and Sharma, the film also features Neha Dhupia, Dimple Kapadia and Atul Kulkarni. The film is bankrolled under the banners of RSVP Movies and Blue Monkey Films.
