Yami Gautam is seeking to expand her horizons with her upcoming crime drama, A Thursday, which will reportedly feature the star in a never-seen-before avatar of hers. The Disney+Hotstar film unveiled its teaser today, and though short, it seems to do a good enough job to add to the fascination that already surrounds the film. The trailer of the film will be released tomorrow, on February 10, 2022.
The short teaser, which can be viewed on the official social media handles of Disney+Hotstar, is set in what seems to be a playschool. It opens to a shot of a room scattered with colourful children’s toys and kids furniture, and a chorus of children singing nursery rhymes echoes through it. The distinctive sound of an adult voice can be picked out from the chorus, and Gautam is seen entering the frame pacing the room. She flashes a look at the camera suddenly that is both stoic and unsettling at the same time, and the sound of a gunshot follows.
Check out the teaser below:
The upcoming film is a crime drama in which Gautam will essay the role of a kindergarten teacher named Naina Jaiswal, who takes a group of children hostage. The upcoming film also features Dimple Kapadia, Neha Dhupia, and Atul Kulkarni in pivotal roles. The film is also rumoured to be a sequel to the acclaimed 2008 film, A Wednesday!, which starred Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher in lead roles.
The upcoming film is directed by Behzad Khambata. The film will premiere on Disney+Hotstar and a release date for the same is yet to be announced.
