Rekhachithram star Asif Ali is gearing up for the release of his next film, titled Aabhyanthara Kuttavaali. The upcoming Malayalam movie, touted to be a family entertainer, is helmed by debutant Sethunath Padmakumar. The trailer of Aabhyanthara Kuttavaali has been released, giving us a sneak peek into all the drama that is set to unfold in the film, which is all set to release on April 17, 2025.
The Aabhyanthara Kuttavaali trailer begins with Asif Ali’s character Sahadevan, who is literally in the dock. An emotional Sahadevan says that section 498 A (domestic abuse) has been formulated for women’s protection and not to ruin the lives of men, hinting that he is facing trial for a similar charge.
This is followed by scenes of the courtroom with the lead characters talking about the trauma on kids when married couples separate. The trailer then cuts to show more lighter moments of Sahadevan’s wedding and initial days of marriage before returning to the courtroom. Other key actors such as Jagadish, who plays a lawyer; Harisree Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, Aseez Nedumangad and Anand Manmadhan are also shown as the trailer moves to more intense scenes.
The trailer is purely shown from a male perspective, and the movie is likely to portray the travails of men, who believe they have got the raw end of the deal.
Newcomer Thulasi plays the female lead in the film, which has also been written by director Sethunath Padmakumar.
Fans seem to be impressed with the Aabhyanthara Kuttavaali trailer with several claiming that Asif Ali is all set to score a hat-trick of hits at the box office. Comments on YouTube ranged from 'waiting for this' and 'hat-trick loading'.
Asif Ali’s previous Rekhachithram was the first hit from Malayalam in 2025. Before that, he starred in Kishkindha Kaandam, co-starring Aparna Balamurali, that also turned out to be a hit at the box office in 2024. He was also seen in Thalavan last year along with Biju Menon.
