Actress Aamna Sharif is getting ready to be launched in a new web series called Aadha Ishq. The romantic drama, directed by Nandita Mehra and produced by 24 Frames Media, is set against the scenic backdrops of Gulmarg, Srinagar and Mussoorie. It portrays a tense love story full of major twists and turns.
Aamna shared her excitement for the project to Mid-Day. She said that the show Aadha Ishq is about the effects of complicated relationships and portraying the difficulties and hardships that her character Roma faces in the show, which was a difficult assignment. However, the actress also added that portraying an emotionally charged role has been a once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunity for her. She is looking forward to the audience seeing this unique yet thought-provoking love story, spiced up with drama and stunning scenic backdrops.
Kunaal Roy Kapur, who portrays Sharif's former husband in the show, told the newspaper that he was immediately pulled into the world of the show. As Roma's former husband, his character in the drama has a special combination of vulnerabilities. Even though his marriage with his ex-wife falls apart, he does everything he can to keep his relationship with their daughter, Rene, intact. Kunaal was quickly captivated into the universe of Aadha Ishq when he first read the script and he hopes that it does the same for the audience.
Aamna Sharif shared an official poster for Aadha Ishq through her social media handles. The talented actress is seen in an intense look with Gaurav Aroraa in the poster. She wrote in her caption "Finally ready to introduce Roma & Sahir, and their #AadhaIshq. Watch their love story unfold soon!"
Gaurav Arora, Pratibha Ranta, Kunaal Roy Kapur and Suchitra Pillai feature in the series, which will release exclusively on Voot in May. Aadha Ishq is a Voot Original show and is likely to only be limited to the OTT platform.
