The much-awaited romantic drama of Aamna Sharif, Aadha Ishq is streaming on Voot and is receiving great response from the fans. The show is heaping praises especially for its poems, written by veteran lyricist-writer-director Gulzar that capture the anguish and joy of love and heartbreak. The writer has penned a few heartfelt poetry for the web show and also lent his voice to it. And now, he has opened up about the experience working on it. 

Sharing his experience with IANS, the musician said it was the script of the show, Aadha Ishq that attracted him to do the piece. He was fascinated by the unconventional love story. "It's a one-of-a-kind heartwrenching tale of unrequited love, and it was a joy composing poetry for it. After many discussions with the director Nandita Mehra, we created these poems that capture the essence of romance and heartbreak experienced by these characters," he said.

Directed by Nandita Mehra, the show, apart from Aamna Sharif, also features Pratibha Ranta, Gaurav Arora and Kunaal Roy Kapur in the lead roles. The show is about a young girl who falls in love with the same man (Gaurav Arora), her mother is in love with. Aamna had earlier told Mid-Day that Aadha Ishq is about the effects of complicated relationships and portraying the difficulties and hardships that her character Roma faces in the show. The actor said that portraying such a character was a once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunity for her. Kunaal too shared the he was immediately attracted to the story, the moment he read it. He plays the role of Aamna's ex-husband, who does everything to keep his relationship with his daughter, Rene. 

The show is currently available to stream on Voot Select.
