Aaditi Pohankar once started training for Dangal, only to land Aashram | Her experience

Aaditi Pohankar, who attained peak fame with her role in Bobby Deol's Aashram, was once a part of Aamir Khan's Dangal. She even learned Haryanvi for the same, which is when the project fell apart. Yes, after she started prep for Aamir’s movie, Aaditi was out of the movie and Fatima Sana Shaikh-Sanya Malhotra bagged it instead. Soon after, Aaditi was offered Prakash Jha's Aashram. This project demanded a similar role. Here's what she had to say about it...

Aaditi Pohankar on missing out on Dangal for Aashram

"They say when you learn something, it will eventually be applied in some way, right?," Aaditi told ETimes while citing the example of starting Dangal prep, only to land Aashram much later instead. She learned the Haryanvi accent and understood the mindset of wrestlers while training for Dangal, which the actress could apply for her role in Prakash Jha’s Aashram. Although the actress feels that her Aashram character was much more, what she learned for Dangal set a strong base for what was to come. "I'm so happy because now it's not left within me as an unfulfilled desire," she said, adding that Aashram was like making four films at once.

Now that Aashram season 3 has come to a wrap with Prakash Jha bidding goodbye to the series, there will be a while before we see the actors, including Aaditi, reprise their roles. Till then, Aaditi is set for three new roles. She confirmed the same in the interview. Whether one of the projects is a new season of SHE, remains uncertain at this point.
