The third instalment of the Jayasurya-led franchise is underway, and actor Vinayakan has joined the sets. Here’s the latest update on the much-anticipated Aadu 3, which is set to hit theatres on March 19, 2026.
Vinayakan in Aadu 3
Aadu 3 is an upcoming Malayalam film, which brings back Shaji Pappan (Jayasurya) and his motley gang. Vinayakan too returns as Damodaran Unnimakan Delmon Edakkochi aka Dude. The actor has now joined the set of Aadu 3. In the videos from the sets seen circulating on social media, director Midhun Manuel Thomas is seen welcoming Vinayakan calling him by his character name. But Vinayakan corrects him, saying that ‘People call him Dude’.
Netizens on Reddit shared their excitement for seeing Vinayakan back in Aadu 3, while some asked about Dude’s assistants, including ‘Dragon’. Aadu 3 had kicked off earlier this year, with the lead actor Jayasurya joining the sets in Palakkad. Actors Saiju Kurup, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Vijay Babu, and Sunny Wayne are also part of Aadu 3.

The first Aadu was released ten years ago in 2015, but the film, written and helmed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, failed attract lot of moviegoers in the theatres. But as luck would have it, Aadu found a dedicated bunch of followers and the film became quite popular online. This led to Aadu 2 getting made and released in 2017. Now after eight years, Aadu 3 is in the making with the release set for March 2026.

Aadu revolves around Shaji Pappan and his gang who get a goat (the Aadu from the title) as the prize after winning a tug-of-war contest. But as they try to get rid of the goat, their paths cross with that of a smuggler and his gang who are on the search for 'Neela Koduveli'.
Vinayakan will be next seen in Kalamkaval, which stars Mammootty, while Jayasurya has Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer in the pipeline.
