Rajinikanth is a star who's enjoyed equal amount of love from Telugu and Tamil audiences since the early days of his career. While the box office collection of the veteran's films has witnessed a decline in Telugu states lately, one will hope that Peddana, the dubbed version of the Diwali release Annaatthe, will set the record straight. The Telugu version is also releasing on the same day as Annaatthe on November 4. After the first track Annayya, the film's second single Aaha Kalyana (Maharaani) was released today.

Aaha Kalyana has been lyricised by Ramajogaiah Sastry, who has consistently delivered numbers of high lyrical quality in the recent times in films like Bheemla Nayak, Most Eligible Bachelor and Hero. Nakash Aziz, a regular in Telugu films, has crooned for the number alongside Anthony Daasan, Vandana Srinivasan. As the name of the song suggests, Aaha Kalyana revolves around a marriage, where Rajinikanth's on-screen sister in the film, Keerthy Suresh, is getting ready to be a bride and her brother erupts in joy.

There's not a single moment in the song where you can spot that this is a dubbed version of a Tamil number and that says enough of the effort that the singers and the lyricist have put into it to ensure authenticity. Rajinikanth has never looked more energetic and spirited in a song in the recent times and D Imman's musical hook is pitch-perfect and it's hard to resist grooving to the number from your seats. Meena and Kushbu match Rajinikanth's energy in the massy number that exudes a celebratory vibe.

Kushbu, Meena, Nayanthara, Keerthi Suresh, Soori, Prakash Raj, Jagapathi Babu and Abimanyu Singh essay pivotal roles in Peddanna, directed by Siva, known for his masala potboilers like Viswasam, Vedhalam and Veeram in the past. Sun Pictures has produced the film, while Suresh Babu and Narayan Das Narang of Asian Cinemas are distributing the Telugu version in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Vetri Palanisamy is the cinematography, while Ruben has edited the film. Adi Narayana is the co-writer of the film with Dhilip Subbarayan choreographing the stunts.
