Aahana Kumra is not satisfied with OTT nowadays. Recently, the Yudh actress shared the slump in original OTT content after the sudden increase in crime dramas on the streaming platforms. Aahana feels that the makers are indeed copy-pasting the content like Kashmir Pakistan, and that it has lost its focus and uniqueness.
Aahana is one of those actors who prefers quality over quantity. The actress has proved her versatility with several TV projects (including Amitabh Bachchan starrer Yudh), films, and web shows. Recently, Aahana shared how filmmakers are now centric on crime dramas, similar to the cut-copy-paste content. The obsession with Kashmir-Pakistan has taken over the variety of content nowadays.
“Everybody is making a crime drama; it’s cut-copy-paste content. Makers are obsessed with Kashmir-Pakistan," Agent Raghav actress told Hindustan Times.

Recalling the types of roles she gets, the Rangbaaz actress shared that filmmakers offer her cop or antagonistic roles, and she would rather pass such opportunities.
Aahana is quite selective and vocal about her roles on the OTT platforms. In the same conversation, the Lipstick Under My Burkha actress shared about the sudden plunge in quality content. She revealed how OTT is slowly losing its focus as compared to the blooming years when good content was everything. “There was a time when OTT was blooming and good content was the focus, but things have changed now. All these big names have suddenly taken over the space,” Aahana further shared with the media outlet.
Speaking about the shift in preferences ever since the renowned and big stars moved to OTT, Kumra noted how she witnessed the main lead roles getting snatched away, and the makers offered her the second lead roles. She doesn’t have a problem waiting for the right role and is happy to grab the ideal opportunity rather than making a compromise by playing the “second fiddle.”
“Makers cast them as the first lead, and then they are like, ‘Second lead wala aap kar lijiye’,” Aahana added.
Meanwhile, Aahana is currently gearing up for a theatrical play, Constellations, co-starring actor Kunaal Roy Kapur.
