Apart from Fukrey 3, lately Richa Chadha has been in the news for her upcoming Netflix series - Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly-anticipated Heeramandi - Where Courtesans Were Queens. But it looks like the actress has more reasons to celebrate now! Richa has been roped in for what can be described as her first international project - an Indo-British production, titled Ainaa, in which she will be seen alongside British actor William Moseley.

According to reports, the plot is set between London and India. Directed by Markus Meedt, Ainaa is a drama film that focuses on the “impact of the cycle of violence, both within cultures and on human beings in the form of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)”. The movie also marks Markus’ first feature film. Before this, he helmed a number of critically acclaimed short films - including Shelter and Anonymous, as well as a few episodes of the miniseries Let’s Get Macho.

Also known for her work in Gangs of Wasseypur, Masaan and Shakeela, Richa was most recently in the Disney+ Hotstar series The Great Indian Murder. William, on the other hand, is best known as the child actor in the Narnia franchise. Meanwhile, the actor was also one of the leads in Land of Dreams as well as in Shonali Bose’s Margarita With A Straw, starring Kalki Koechlin and Revathi.

Speaking about Aaina, Richa told ANI, “I’m excited to be working in a new part of the world, I like to experiment. They have put together an impressive crew of the best of talent from India and the UK. It’s truly going to be a collaborative effort to embark on a film that deals with such an important subject. We are currently in London prepping for the film with the shooting expected to commence on June 2nd. I have always strived for a challenging role and this one sure is one of the toughest parts I have taken up.”

Before this, Richa was part of an international film, titled Love Sonia, which was directed by Tabrez Nooran. Meanwhile, in Heeramandi, the actress will be seen alongside Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala and Sanjeeda Sheikh.
