Amid this, there were reports that Aamir is working with popular South director Lokesh Kanagaraj for a superhero action film and is also in talks for the sequel to PK. However, Khan denied the reports of PK sequel but confirmed the news of working with Kanagaraj.
A few days ago, reports claimed that Aamir Khan would play the role of Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema, and that it would be directed by blockbuster filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. Apart from these, reports claimed that Aamir is also working with Lokesh Kanagaraj for a superhero film.
During a group interaction with journalists, Aamir Khan addressed the reports and denied them, saying, "PK 2 is a rumour. I don’t know anything about it.” He added, “Dadasaheb Phalke film is definitely being made. Raju and I are working on it.”
When asked about Lokesh Kanagaraj's film, he replied, “Lokesh and I are working on a film. It belongs to the superhero genre. It’s a big-scale action film and will go on floors in the second half of 2026. I can’t say more than this. Yeh do saal aage ki baat hai!”
As per media reports, Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are set to begin filming as early as October 2025. The shoot will kick off shortly after the release of Sitaare Zameen Par, which is scheduled to hit theatres on June 20.
This biopic will follow Phalke's journey as an artist who laid the foundation for what would become the world's largest indigenous film industry against the backdrop of India's war of independence.
