Among the many actors the web space made popular, rose Jaideep Ahlawat. Through his role of Hathi Ram in Paatal Lok, Jaideep became a name that would be remembered in cinema. The actor, who will soon be seen in Jaane Jaan opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan and Vijay Varma, earned so much praise for his role that Aamir Khan also insisted on a video call with him.

What Jaideep revealed

During his conversation with Humans of Bombay, Jaideep revealed that he got a text message from Aamir Khan two days after Paatal Lok release. “Hi, this is Aamir Khan, please let me know whenever you are free, I will call,” the text message read. This was when Jaideep was already on a video call with his friends. Stunned after receiving the message, Jaideep did respond back after his call with his friends ended. Jaideep shared that Aamir immediately called back and demanded to talk on video call. The actor shared that Aamir spoke to him for half an hour and wanted to know his preparation process for the project. Calling him the master of his craft, Jaideep felt that Aamir was very sweet and genuine in appreciating his work.

Manoj Bajpayee called too

Manoj Bajpayee was already a successful actor on OTT thanks to The Family Man. He had worked with Jaideep in Gangs of Wasseypur as well. Manoj called Jaideep and spoke to him on the third day of Paatal Lok release. They spoke for half an hour too.

Jaideep’s next projects

Jaideep will now be seen in The Devotion of Suspect X adaptation – Jaane Jaan. He plays a teacher named Naren in the Sujoy Ghosh directed film. The movie also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Vijay Varma in the lead roles.

Apart from that, Jaideep co-incidentally will be working alongside Aamir’s son Junaid in his debut film, Maharaj. Backed by YRF, the film is helmed by Siddharth Malhotra. Jaideep also stars opposite Saif Ali Khan in Siddharth Anand’s untitled film, which will see Jaideep as the antagonist. Both the movies, much like Jaane Jaan, will release on Netflix.
