Aamir Khan or Ranbir Kapoor, who will be Rajkumar Hirani’s Lala Amarnath in his biopic?

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, who is known for his superhit films like PK, 3 Idiots, Munna Bhai MBBS, Sanju and more has been making headlines after he broke the news of collaborating with Shah Rukh Khan for Dunki. Currently, the forthcoming movie Dunki is in the post-production phase. Now, what we know is that the director is already preparing for his next project. Lala Amarnath, the first cricket captain of Independent India, will be the subject of Hirani's upcoming biography. It's interesting to note that there are rumors swirling that Hirani has two actors in mind for the lead part in this sports biopic.

Who will play the lead in Lala Amarnath biopic?

Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are the front-runners for the lead in the Lala Amarnath biopic, according to Pinkvilla. Rajkumar Hirani is keeping his casting choices open and plans to make a choice after the script has been finished. 

The portal quoted a source as saying, “Like his previous films, this one has also first gone to Aamir, who has liked the script and shown his interest. In case Aamir passes it up, the filmmaker will go to Ranbir, who headlined his last blockbuster, Sanju. Hirani has briefly spoken to Ranbir about it and will formally approach him after Aamir’s final response."

The script for the Lala Amarnath biopic is complete, and production on the second act should begin in 2024.

After Luv Ranjan's rom-com Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, Ranbir is currently said to be working on Ramayana. Aamir Khan, on the other hand, will begin shooting a new movie in January 2024.
