Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are two of the most celebrated names in Bollywood, who have delivered blockbuster hits like ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘PK’. The films were not only loved by the audience but were also box office successes. Now, according to reports, the duo is all set to reunite after 10 years for a new movie, which will be a biopic.
According to a source quoted by Pinkvilla, Hirani has recently narrated a script to Aamir which has got him all ‘excited’. The source said, “It’s a biopic, and when Aamir heard the idea he instantly got excited.” However, the details of the biopic are still under wraps and the project is still in the early stages of discussion.
Hirani is currently busy with his upcoming film ‘Dunki’, which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal in key roles. The film is slated to hit the theatres on December 22, 2023. The source added that Hirani will start working on the final script and other pre-production formalities of the biopic after the release of ‘Dunki’.
If all goes as planned, Aamir and Hirani will be taking the film on the floors next year, a decade after their last release, ‘PK’ which was released in 2014. The film was a satire on religion and superstition and was one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time.
Aamir Khan is currently taking a break from acting after his last film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which was a remake of Hollywood classic ‘Forrest Gump’. The film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences and generated controversy over some scenes. Aamir had said that he would only embark on a new project when he feels “emotionally prepared.”
