Aamir Khan is set to star in a biopic about Dadasaheb Phalke, the "Father of Indian Cinema," directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film is one of the most-awaited projects, and if everything goes as planned, it will mark Aamir’s third collaboration with Hirani after 3 Idiots (2009) and PK (2014). In a new interview, Aamir opened up about the Dadasaheb Phalke biopic and shared an update on the script.
During an interview with Times of India, Aamir Khan shared an update on the Dadasaheb Phalke biopic with Rajkumar Hirani. He said that he has immense respect for Dadasaheb Phalke and knows some of his life because of the research that Rajukumar has done.
"I’m not sure if the script has been fully cracked yet, as he’s still working on it. Ultimately, it all depends on how the final script shapes up, so I’m waiting for Raju to take that call. He’s a great person to work with," Aamir said.

Talking about Aamir's recent projects, he was seen in Sitaare Zameen Par in 2025. The film, produced by him, received heartwarming responses from fans and critics.
Next, he was seen in Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos. The film marks Vir Das' debut directorial. It is also co-directed by Kavi Shastri. The film received mixed responses and did poorly at the box office. The film is a satirical spy parody that focuses on absurd humour rather than a traditional narrative.

Meanwhile, Aamir has also confirmed that his long-cherished adaptation of the Mahabharat is his next major focus. He has confirmed he is working on a project with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Apart from these, Lahore 1947 is another upcoming film under his production, which is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and stars Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta.
Under Aamir Khan's production, Ek Din, starring his son Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, is all set to hit theatres on May 1, 2026.
