Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha gets new release date; Prabhas’ Adipurush to shift release to avert clash

In some disheartening news for Aamir Khan fans, the star’s upcoming film, Laal Singh Chaddha has postponed its release date. The film was earlier scheduled for a release in theatres on April 14 this year and has now shifted its release to August. As it coincides with the release of Adipurush, the makers of the Prabhas starrer will be shifting its release date to accommodate Laal Singh Chaddha.

Aamir Khan Productions, which serves as the production banner for the film, took to their official social media handles to share the announcement. The makers mentioned that the reason for the postponement is that the film will not be completed in time, by April. Laal Singh Chaddha is now scheduled to be released in theatres on August 11, this year.

In the same post, the producers also thanked Bhushan Kumar of T-Series Films, the banner producing Adipurush, for shifting the release date of the latter so as to avoid a clash with Laal Singh Chaddha at the box office. A new release date for Adipurush, which was earlier scheduled for release on August 11, is yet to be announced.

Laal Singh Chaddha is directed by Advait Chandan and is a remake of the Academy Award-winning Hollywood film Forrest Gump (1994), which starred Tom Hanks in the lead. In addition to Khan, the upcoming film also features Kareena Kapoor Khan and Naga Chaitanya in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, Prabhas' Adipurush is a mythological drama helmed by Om Raut, and also stars Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan.
