Aan Paavam Pollathathu, which features actor s Rio Raj and Malavika Manoj, released in theatres to thunderous reception, following which it recently premiered on OTT. While for the first few days the film indeed got a good reception on OTT as well, a social media post comparing Aan Paavam Pollathathu to another Tamil film, a coming-of-age drama, Bad Girl sparked debate. To give the context, Aan Paavam Pollathathu is a romantic drama which revolves around a newly married couple who face some problems which takes them to the court for divorce. The film was heavily criticised for being one-sided and favourable to men, while portraying the woman’s angle dumb and underwritten. However, despite the reviews, Aan Paavam Pollathathu made well at the box office. When the film premiered on OTT, it had gotten good reception.
