Mohanlal fans can barely keep calm as they count down the days to celebrate the actor’s next venture, Aaraattu. To add to the growing hype, the makers have unveiled a new song from the upcoming film titled, Thalayude Vilayattu, which is touted to be the film’s theme song.

The lyrical video of the song, which was unveiled by Mohanlal on his official social media today, offers a vibrant visual treat for the star’ fans. The video, three-minutes long, starts off with some breathtaking visuals of some traditional art forms of Kerala, including the famed Kathakali and Kalaripayattu. Mohanlal is shown to make a whistle-worthy entry as his character Neyyattinkara Gopan. The video is also rife with some mass entertaining moments where he shines, toppling goons and looking good while doing it. The lyrics of the song also serve as a tribute to the larger-than-life hero.

The song, composed by Rahul Raj, has been sung by M.G Sreekumar and Fejo. The lyrics to the same has been penned by Fejo along with Harinarayanan BK.

The upcoming film will revolve around the story of Gopan, a real estate tycoon who makes his way to Palakkad to survey a piece of land he has purchased. While there, he finds himself trapped with some ruthless criminals in the area.

In addition to Mohanlal, the upcoming film also stars Shraddha Srinath, Ramachandra Raju, Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, Indrans, Vijayaraghavan, Swasika and Sai Kumar. A R Rahman is also expected to make a cameo in the film, a glimpse of which was shown in the film’s trailer. B. Unnikrishnan has directed the film, from a script written by Udaykrishna.

Aaraattu will be released in theatres on February 18, 2022.
