Aarya Season 3: Here's when Sushmita Sen's crime drama will go on floors

Aarya is gearing up to come back to the silver screen for another thrilling season, guns blazing. The Sushmita Sen starrer series was renewed for a third season this year, which will see Sen reprise her role as the titular protagonist. It was reported that the upcoming new season will go on floors this year.

According to a report in Mid Day, the makers of the series were planning to start production sometime in December this year. A source told the portal that the cast will start their preparations before that, working on their ammunition training and doing their readings in October. The makers were reportedly planning to shoot most of the portions of the show in Mumbai, as well as a small part in Rajasthan.

The new season will also see Sikander Kher, who plays Daulat, reprise his role. Expressing his excitement for the show’s new season, the actor said that he was looking forward to being back on Aarya’s sets in the coming months. On his character, Kher said “Daulat is a complex yet likeable character, and playing him allows me to explore different layers of his personality.”

Ram Madhvani and Sandeep Modi, who created the series, had reportedly finalised season 3’s story. The duo have also been the directors of the show.

Earlier, when news of the show’s renewal broke out, Sen had spoken of how the new season would usher in a ‘new dawn’ for Aarya. Her character would journey to places without being bound by the hurdles of her past life, Sen had said.

The first season of Aarya had been nominated at the International Emmy Awards for Best Drama. The show, an adaptation of the Dutch drama Penoza, marked Sen’s digital debut. Ram Madhvani Films and Endemol Shine Group India are the producers of the show.
