Aashaan trailer: Indrans plays an eccentric film artiste in this Johnpaul George-helmed dramedy

Aashaan, a new Malayalam dramedy, will be released in theatres next week. In the meantime, the film's creators released a trailer today (January 31) that provides further details about the plot based on showbiz. Here's more about it...

What does Aashaan trailer show?

The two and a half minutes video begins with Joemon Jyothir who is an aspiring filmmaker in pursuit to make his independent project. He quickly gets to know Indrans' character, Aashaan, who is regarded as an experienced artiste in the business. The film industry is the main focus of the film, and the trailer continues to reveal the mayhem that follows. The trailer makes it quite evident that Indrans will provide a fantastic performance as the quirky Aashaan, who brings laughter and poignant moments to the film. This would certainly be the strongest aspects of Aashaan.

When is Aashaan theatrical release?

With the support of Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films, Aashaan is getting ready for a release on February 5. Even though no other Malayalam films are slated for release on the same day, Bhavana's thriller Anomie and Jayaram's family entertainer Ashakal Ayiram will debut in theatres the following day. It's unclear how Aashaan will perform in theatres compared to the other movies.

This project is being directed by Johnpaul, who is well-known for helming Malayalam feel-good films, Ambili and Guppy. The team behind the project have also revealed that around 100 newbies will be making their debut. Shobi Thilakan plays a pivotal role in Aashaan. Jomon Jyothir, Tamil YouTuber Madan Gowri, Shobi Thilakan, Abin Bino, Kanakam, Bipin Perumballi, and others are also featured in this film. 

The cinematographer is Vimal Jose Thachil. In the meantime, MR Rajasekharan is in charge of sound design, and Kiran Das is in charge of editing. Ajeesh Anto composed the background score, Vinayak Sasikumar authored the lyrics, and Johnpaul George composed the melody for Aashaan. On social media, videos of Indrans happily dancing during the film's promotional events had also gone viral.
