Popular television actor Aashim Gulati, who has been loved for his performances in the mythological television serial Karn Sangini, will be seen in another mythological character, but this time it is for the web series Taj: Divided by Blood.

Set in the 16th century, the show is about the Mughal empire and the actor plays Akbar's elder son, Salim. Speaking about his character, Aashim said, "Not just Salim, every single character is connected and their stories are woven so interestingly that if you take away one block, the story would be incomplete. It all adds multiple layers to Salim's character. Salim is an ashiq and poet, who loves music and art." The actor also wrote a poem to describe the character.

Salim has a complicated relationship with his father, emperor Akbar, played by Naseeruddin Shah in the show. Their relationship worsens when Salim falls in love with Anarkali, a courtesan, played by Aditi Rao Hydari.

Taj: Divided by Blood stars Dharmendra, Naseeruddin Shah, Rahul Bose, Zarina Wahab, Sandhya Mridul, Shubham Kumar Mehra, along with Taaha with Aditi. Directed by Ron Scalpello and produced by Contiloe Pictures, the historical drama series will be available to stream on OTTplay and ZEE5 from March 3.
