Salman Khan's adopted sister, Arpita Khan Sharma, has constantly been trolled for her looks. Now, her husband, actor Aayush Sharma, has come out in her defence, saying that he is proud of his wife, who, he says, is comfortable in her own skin.
Speaking at a Ted Talk recently, Aayush revealed that Arpita is the target of extreme ridicule just because she is a public figure.
In a video that has surfaced online, the Love Yatri actor said that every time a picture of his wife is uploaded online, she becomes a victim of extreme trolling.
Speaking at the talk, Aayush said that Arpita is constantly trolled for being overweight. "She is a constant target. (People say that) being a celebrity, she shouldn’t be so fat; she should dress a certain way; (and that) she is dark."
The actor added that it is unfortunate that no one is interested in finding out how beautiful a person is on the inside, and they only see external beauty.
Slamming Aprita’s trolls, Aayush said that he is proud of his wife, who is comfortable in her own skin. Speaking further about a resilient Arpita, the Ruslaan actor added that she has not let trolls dictate her life and that she lives life on her own terms.
"She is proud of who she is. Behind closed doors, she tells me, ‘I am not a celebrity. I am never going to be in front of the camera, so I am going to be who I am'," Aayush added.
Aayush debuted with the film Love Yatri in 2018, which was made under his brother-in-law Salman Khan's production house. He was next seen in the 2021 film Antim: The Final Truth.
The teaser for his next film, Ruslaan, was released recently.
