In what is being seen as yet another devastating piece of news for Vikram and Gautham Vasudev Menon (GVM) fans, it was confirmed earlier today that their film, Dhruva Natchathiram, will not be released on November 24. The release of the film has been pushed. Malayalam director Abhinav Sunder Nayak is the latest to come out in support of GVM on social media.

Announcing that the release date of his film is definitely being pushed, Gautham posted on social media, “Sorry, unable to get Dhruva Natchathiram to screens today. We tried our best. But looks like we need a day or two more. Hoping to give everybody a good experience with advance bookings and proper screens everywhere around the world.”
Abhinav empathises with GVM’s current situation
Quoting GVM’s statement tweet, Abhinav wrote that he relates to the challenges that the Vaaranam Aayiram director is currently facing. Abhinav wrote, “As someone who had to wait for 5 years to get my first film made, I know for a fact that this is the worst situation any filmmaker can be in. I simply cannot imagine what he must be undergoing. Hope things get resolved & the film releases soon.” The editor-turned-filmmaker made his directorial debut with The Malayalam film Mukundan Unni Associates that had Vineeth Sreenivasan in the lead role.
Financial issues mount amid Dhruva Natchathiram’s release
According to several reports, despite his endless efforts to meet the scheduled release date, GVM has been struggling to resolve financial issues related to the film, which led to the delay of the film’s release. It forced the director to not release his film on November 24, marking yet another delay in the long-awaited Chiyaan Vikram-Gautham Menon collaboration. However, Kerala distributors feel that the new release date might be November 30. Nonetheless, audiences' wait to watch the film seems endless at the moment.
Abhinav Sundar’s upcoming project with Aashiq Usman
Meanwhile, Abhinav recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of his directorial debut film, Mukundan Unni and Associates. On the occasion, he announced that he would be teaming up with popular Malayalam producer Aashiq Usman for an upcoming project. The details of the films are yet to be revealed.
