Abhishek Bachchan committed to only taking on films that challenged him when he returned to acting in 2018 after a self-imposed break. Even if his experimental streak has resulted in varying degrees of success, the actor has stayed true to his commitment. Another stride in that direction is Dasvi, in which he plays a corrupt chief minister who sets out to clear the tenth standard examination from prison.

The rustic Ganga Ram Chaudhary is endearing to Bachchan despite being rough around the edges. The actor told Mid Day that one would notice he is lovely and nice within the first five minutes. By the end of the movie, the actor's character has a better knowledge of society. His bond with his wife, played by Nimrat Kaur, was one of the highlights of the film for Abhishek.

The actor reflected that his character was not chauvinistic, contrary to how we view such personalities. One would think that the Netflix film emphasizes the importance of well-educated politicians, but Abhishek clarified that they are not making a societal remark. The goal was to make a film that was both entertaining and educational. They will be thrilled if folks can walk away with a social message after that.

While his previous triumph was the ensemble drama Ludo (2020), he received critical acclaim for Bob Biswas (2021). On the other hand, Abhishek takes on social comedy in the next Tushar Jalota film. When asked if he is always aware of the pressure, the actor said that he has always felt the burden of making a decent movie. It makes no difference where he is in the frame. He had never thought about the first or second lead before. Only then can one genuinely submit to their films if they take control of them.

He is a true believer in what he preaches. Abhishek is known for taking ownership of his films, whether they are recent successes or flops from the past. As part of his learning process, the actor constantly reviews his films. He jots down ideas on how he could have done things better. The Guru actor takes criticism seriously because he values everyone's opinion. Someone is telling him what he needs to work on, and he has no reason to not pay attention to that.

Dasvi is premiering on Netflix and JioCinema on April 8, 2022.
