Casting director-turned-actor Abhishek Banerjee, who has made a unique place for himself in the entertainment industry, is back with a new short film titled Sex, Likes & Stories. The trailer for the film was released on Monday.

Abhishek has starred in shows like Stree, Rashmi Rocket, Bhediya, and series like Pataal Lok and Rana Naidu.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Keith Gomes, it also stars Mokshda Jailkhani and Shruthy Menon.

So, what about the film made Abhishek Banerjee want to be a part of it? "Whenever Keith calls me for anything, I will be there. He is one of the pillars of my career in Mumbai. He's the one who gave me my first job as a casting director. Even though Keith has been an associate director on many commercial films, his thought process is completely original and quirky. This film is an original take on social media madness."

Interestingly, Sex, Likes & has been shot on an iPhone. Speaking about the film, Keith said, "Sex, Likes & Stories is a rollercoaster ride through the twisted depths of social media, blending dark humour and gripping storytelling."

He added that the film offers an insight that will potentially change the perspective of the audience about the virtual world we "live" in. "The story is an unconventional ride that exposes the underbelly of social media, with a dash of quirkiness and a whole lot of surprises," he said.

Mokshda has been the victim of body shaming and shared about her experience of trolling online. "Like many performing artists in the spotlight, I've been subjected to a lot of negativity, verbal abuse, and trolling on social media. Initially, it got me really low, but slowly I learned to understand what really matters versus what is transient."

She added that negative comments don't define the worth of an individual. "As the universe would have it, Keith sir reached out to me exactly during this phase of realisation and gave me the opportunity to be a part of this absolutely pure, unadulterated, and much-needed mirror to society in the form of this film. I cannot wait for everyone to watch it and live it, as we all have while making it."

The film will be released on Keith's official YouTube channel on May 25.
