Abhyanthara Kuttavali: Asif Ali-starrer family drama gets a new release date

The makers of the Malayalam upcoming film, Abhyanthara Kuttavali, have dropped an update on its theatrical release date. The family drama, which stars Asif Ali in the lead role, will hit the big screen on June 6.

Originally, the movie was supposed to open in theatres in April. However, for unclear reasons, it was postponed. Sarkeet, another film directed by Asif Ali, was released on May 8 and received a favourable reception from viewers.

With Rekhachithram, an investigative thriller that became the first Malayalam box office hit of 2025, Asif Ali got 2025 off to a fantastic start. It is thought that Abhyanthara Kuttavali will give the Thalavan star another blockbuster, one that will bring families to the theatre. 

All about Asif Ali's Abhyanthara Kuttavali

In the opening voiceover of Abhyanthara Kuttavali's teaser, Jagadish makes his case before the judge. His plaintiff's family was searching for a well-behaved young person who would look after their daughter after marriage. Asif Ali, who portrays the groom Sahadevan, is then introduced in the teaser. As Jagadish proceeds to enumerate the bride's problems, scenes from a wedding are shown in a glimpse. Asif Ali is shown in the courtroom, literally, in the dock at the end of the teaser. 

On the whole, the teaser suggests Abhyanthara Kuttavali is a movie that combines familial feelings with legal challenges is in the works. The forthcoming Malayalam film is expected to be a comedy drama with a realistic tone discussing a social issue. A trailer is expected in the coming days.

In addition to Jagadish, Harisree Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, Azees Nedumangad, Prem Kumar, Balachandran Chullikkad, and Jai Mahendran-fame Anand Manmadhan in supporting parts, debutante Thulasi plays the film's female lead. The editor is Sobin Soman, while the DOP is Ajay David Kachappilly. Rahul Raj composed the background music for the movie, which features music by Bijibal and Christy Joby. Naisam Salam has bankrolled Abhyanthara Kuttavali.
