He was seen in serials like Khuje Berai Kacher Manush and Bahnisikha
Abir Chatterjee appears in a Bengali serial. He once started his career through the small screen. At that time, he was seen in serials like Khuje Berai Kacher Manush and Bahnisikha. However, he shifted to the big screen in 2009. He made his debut in the film Cross Connection. In his long journey in the film industry, Abir has become the quintessential detective with the successful portrayal of Byomkesh, Feluda, and now, Sonada. Then why did he opt for serials while having a successful film career?
Abir will not be seen regularly in the serial. There will be a grand episode of Sun Bangla’s serial Sathi. The celebratory episodes will continue for a week. Abir will come on a particular day. He will play the role of Om’s friend and college senior. He will play himself, as Abir, in the serial.
Abir told Anandabazar Online, “I found this work different since people will see me as Abir Chatterjee. I do many works with Hasan da (this serial's producer). My mother Rumki Chatterjee plays the role of Thammi in this serial. So, it is a family matter. Generally, a pact is done with the serials here to promote something. But in many Mumbai serials, film stars appear as guest artists for one day. The same is done here. My career started with serials, hence I am always grateful to television.”
The serial shows that the heroine Bristi, played by Anumita Dutta, has lost her memory. Abir will help the hero bring back Bristi's memory. Anumita is elated at the chance to act along with Abir. She said that this is a fan girl moment for her. Hence she is happy and excited. The promo is shot, but the original shooting is yet to take place.
