Producer Jackky Bhagnani has come out quashing rumors about his upcoming venture Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Responding to reports that claimed that the mega project is nearly shelved due to budget constraints, Bhagnani asserted that the film was always on track and that the speculations surrounding its prospects are ‘absolutely incorrect’.

Jackky Bhagnani’s clarification comes on the back of several rumors suggesting that Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was ‘back-burnered’ by the producers due to major financial concerns. Aside from being a bona fide action entertainer of the highest order, the film also stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff as leads who are said to have charged whopping amounts as their respective remunerations.

Reportedly, Akshay Kumar charged as much as Rs. 144 crores for his part while Jr. Shroff signed on the dotted line for Rs. 45 crores! And director Ali Abbas Zafar, having delivered hits like Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai, charged Rs. 25 crores as part of his fee.

However, with both leading men enduring heavy box office failures recently (Heropanti 2, Bachchan Pandey, and Samrat Prithviraj), speculations were rife about Bade Miyan Chote Miyan being unattainable for the producers because of its scale, thus prompting both the lead actors and director Abbas Zafar to cut down their respective fees.

According to Bollywood Hungama, Khiladi Kumar is said to have slashed his price by 50 percent with Tiger Shroff and Ali Abbas Zafar agreeing to cut their fees down up to 35 percent each. The overall Rs. 100 crores drop in the budget is said to have breathed new life into the project.

Jackky Bhagnani has previously produced the Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom and is working with the veteran actor on the biographical drama Capsule Gill. He is also producing Ganapath Part 1 for Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon with Vikas Bahl directing the picture.

While Jackky Bhagnani did not speak about the cost reduction part, his tweet however confirmed that Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is still very much on the cards. On the other hand, new reports have revealed that the small hiccup for the makers isn’t just because of the tough financial structure but myriad other factors that are to remain privy only to the core team.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is scheduled currently to release in December of 2023 with the film going on floors in January of the same year. Ali Abbas Zafar plans to shoot the film in Europe.
