The most-anticipated Telugu film Acharya is gearing up for a theatrical release. The makers of the Chiranjeevi-Ram Charan starrer recently announced the release date with an appealing poster on social media. According to the announcement, the movie will hit theatres on February 4, 2022.

The stellar actors also took the poster to their social media and shared the release date with their fans. ‘#Acharya Arrives on 4th Feb22’, wrote them in the caption, by tagging the crew in the later part of the same.

Written and directed by filmmaker Koratala Siva, Acharya will be an action drama, starring Kajal Aggarwal and Pooja Hegde alongside the superstar male leads. Though the film was launched in 2019, its production has been delayed due to the pandemic. The makers had announced back in August 2021 about the shoot heading to its completion and it was also reported that the team will soon be wrapping up.

The movie backed by Matinee Entertainment and Konidela Production has also been a matter of controversy in August 2020, as writer Rajesh Manduri alleged that the movie was plagiarized from his script. He claimed that he had narrated the story to the production house Mythri Movie Makers, which was not approved. However, the production house denied the allegation and Matinee Entertainment stated the claims as ‘baseless’.

Meanwhile, the film was originally slated to be released on May 13, 2021, but its fate was again altered by the pandemic. Now that the release date is confirmed, fans are elated and eager to see their superstars appearing together on screen.
