Acharya saw father son duo Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan in their first major onscreen collaboration together. Naturally, fans were more than a little excited to see the seasoned stars weave their magic on screen, but it seems that the film has left many disappointed. Many Twitter users seemed to find that the film did not live up to its hype, and took to the social media platform to express their discontentment.
The first half of the film in particular seemed to have left viewers divided. While some claimed that the first half was ‘very good’, some found it ‘below average’. One user talked about how the film’s first half was different from most ‘mass masala’ entertainers, and another picked out Ram Charan’s entry as being one of the highlights of it.
Many viewers felt that the film was just ‘average’, and one user called Koratala Siva’s script and direction ‘mediocre’. They also added that the protagonists’ entries were the only ‘high moments’ in the film. Another user wrote that although Ram Charan’s screen presence was ‘unmatchable’ they still found the movie average.
Most of the reviews for the film were less than kind. One user called it a ‘pure disaster’, while another wrote about how angry they felt after watching the film. They also added that they felt Acharya was Koratala Siva’s ‘weakest’ movie, and that Chiranjeevi’s performance too was ‘disappointing’.
Among the horde of negative reviews, there were some who were impressed by the film also.
In addition to Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan, the film also features Pooja Hengde, Sonu Sood, Jisshu Sengupta, Saurav Lokesh, Kishore, Posani Krishna Murali, and Tanikella Bharani in pivotal roles. The film was produced by Niranjan Reddy and Anvesh Reddy under the banner of Matinee Entertainment in collaboration with Konidela Productions.
Acharya is now showing in theatres.
