Thug Life, the upcoming Kamal Haasan-starrer film directed by filmmaker Mani Ratnam, is one of the highly anticipated films from the Tamil film industry. While the shooting for the film is going at a brisk pace, speculation is rife that actor Dulquer Salmaan, who was previously announced to be part of the project, has dropped out.

However, no official announcement has been made in this regard. Thug Life also stars Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Gautham Karthik, and Joju George, among others in prominent roles.

Dulquer out of Thug Life?

Actor Kamal Haasan, who was last seen in Vikram, is currently busy shooting for Mani Ratnam's Thug Life. The film marks the actor's reunion with the director after 37 years since the release of the 1987 gangster action-drama Nayakan.

While Thug Life is one of the much-awaited and prestigious projects from the Tamil film industry, it is now being rumoured that actor Dulquer Salmaan, who was previously announced to be part of the project, has now dropped out. As per reports, Dulquer is unable to squeeze in Thug Life because of his upcoming line-up and packed schedule. An official confirmation by the makers in this regard is awaited.

Dulquer’s upcoming line-up

It is said that Dulquer has opted out of Thug Life because of his upcoming busy line-up. The actor is indeed involved in multiple projects across languages. Dulquer Salmaan, who was last seen in the Malayalam film King of Kotha, is currently involved in three projects, including Lucky Baskhar, Suriya 43, and Kaantha.

DQ will be working with filmmaker Venky Atluri in Lucky Baskhar, which also stars Meenakshi Choudhary as the female lead. The film will release in Malayalam, Hindi and Tamil as well. The actor is also part of Suriya 43 in Tamil, directed by filmmaker Sudha Kongara. The film also stars Nazriya and Vijay Varma. He also has a multi-lingual project titled Kaantha, directed by Selvamani Selvaraj. The film is backed by Rana Daggubati and Dulquer's Spirit Media and Wayfarer Films banners, respectively.
