Narayan Das K Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao, the producers of Sekhar Kammula's Love Story, have finalised a new project that would feature actor Sudheer Babu in the lead. The film marks the directorial debut of writer, actor Harshavardhan. An action entertainer in the offing, tentatively titled Production No 5, presented by Sonali Narang and Srishti, the film went on floors in Hyderabad with a pooja ceremony today. The project is incidentally the 15th film for Sudheer Babu as a lead actor.
Puskur Ram Mohan Rao, the producer, honorarily, handed over the script to the director at the launch event. The makers say that Sudheer Babu gets to play a never-seen-before role in a novel plot penned by Harshavardhan himself. The shoot of the untitled film is set to commence in the coming week. Chaitan Bharadwaj, who recently composed for Maha Samudram, is coming up with the music score, while PG Vinda has been roped in as the cinematographer. Rajeev is the art director. The other cast and crew will be announced shortly.
Though Harshavardhan had directed Good Bad Ugly, starring Sreemukhi in the lead, earlier, the film couldn't witness the light of the day owing to financial troubles faced by the producer. The actor-writer's most popular works include Manam and Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde, for which he had penned the dialogues. Sudheer Babu's last release was Sridevi Soda Centre, directed by Karuna Kumar (streaming on ZEE5). He is currently working on filmmaker Mohana Krishna Indraganti's next, titled Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali, where he's paired opposite Krithi Shetty.
