Actor Adarsh Gourav who became a much prominent name with his critically acclaimed performance in the BAFTA nominated film White Tiger is all set to be part of the Meryl Streep starrer anthology Extrapolations, and being an actor who prefers to have a real-life reference point for his character, Adarsh travelled to remote villages of Nagpur to meet the widows of farmers.

Talking about why the such process is important for him, Adarsh said, “I believe in understanding and empathizing with the person I embody on screen. For this role, I travelled to a remote village in Nagpur where I met widows of real farmers. Talking to them made me aware of a reality that is neither well reported nor documented which helped me to reach the pathos of the character.”

The experience was quite eye-opening for him. As a performer, he is hopeful that after the release of the show, people in the urban pockets of every big city will understand the contribution of the farmer community better.

He said, “I do hope that through this show, more people, especially from big cities, understand the sacrifices farmers and their families have to make so that they can have a comfortable meal at home.”

“I hope that this show brings in a change so that these widows and their children have a genuine shot at making something of their lives,” added the actor who has multiple projects in the pipeline.

Recently the trailer of Extrapolations, by Scott Z. Burns, was out. The show, which is a climate crisis drama, will soon be out on Apple+TV. It is a star-studded one with some of the top names of Hollywood. The cast includes Meryl Streep, Kit Harington, Edward Norton, Tobey Maguire and others.

Adarsh also finished filming the series Guns & Gulaabs and also will be appearing in the Zoya Akhtar directorial Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. Earlier he acted in films like My Name Is Khan, short film Rukh and Deepa Mehta's series Leila.
