Adhyayan Suman, who had a turnaround in his career with the 2020 web series Ashram on MX Player, has his hands full with as many as 14 projects in the line-up. The actor who debuted with Haal-e-Dil in 2008 credits it all to Aashram, to wring him out from a low phase of having no work to landing a string of web projects and Hindi films to look forward to.

Reflecting on the huge impact of Ashram in his career, he said that ‘Prakash Jha gave him another life’ with his role of Tinka Singh. While he is not signed on big-budget productions or shows, he is now able to essay different characters. ‘People are giving me roles where I am leading the pack,’ he said.

In a statement to News18, Adhyayan has listed some of the projects listed on his big work log. He has finished shooting for Prayag Raaj, which is an ensemble cast web series. The post-production of a film called Entrapped, which revolves around a billionaire boy trapped in a car with his secretary. There’s Ranchhod, a film co-starring the stalwart Naseeruddin Shah that is lined up for shoot this year.

To cap it all, a new season of Ashram will go on floors from September 13 this year

He is currently shooting for Madrasi Gang, which marks his debut in the Telugu cinema. There’s another Prakash Jha production lined up, similar to Jamtara, about a boy who gets swindled through a phone call.

He has also signed on a third project with Prakash Jha, Anthony Kalia, which is a gangster drama having him play the antagonist. This is one project that has got him excited as it’s ‘on the lines of a Kabir Singh’, chronicling the tale of a boy who grows up to avenge his father’s death.

If you thought that was all, think again, the actor has many more projects in his kitty. While there’s Inspector Avinash with Jio Cinema, featuring an ensemble cast, there’s also Sindhi Curry, a film about a dysfunctional family coming back together during the pandemic. He will be also seen in a ‘very Before Sunrise After Sunset, coming of age story’, as he says, about a boy who falls in love with a female painter.

The actor, who was praised for his performance in 2009 Mukesh Bhatt directorial Jashnn, has also taken to cultivating his passion for music, having released quite a few music videos in the recent past. He had also directed a music video Jab Se Dekha.

Living in uncertain times, the entertainment industry, like the other industries, has been adversely affected by the pandemic. In this scenario, working in 14 projects is an unusual high in itself, and Adhyayan Suman is right on top of his game.
