Adil Hussain responds to a fan who congratulates him for Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec

Every four years, the Olympic Games bring us an array of interesting stories. Just before the controversy around Algerian boxer Imane Khelif flooded the social media space, it was Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec who broke the internet with his swag. On Tuesday, along with his partner Sevval Ilayda Tarhan, the shooter bagged a silver in the Mixed 10m Air Pistol shooting. Yusuf was seen aiming and shooting without any sophisticated eyewear or other sports wearables. He shot with his simple frill-free glasses with a hand tucked in his pocket.  

Now, according to some netizens, the viral Olympic shooter Yusuf Dikec looks like our own Adil Hussain, and hence the actor is getting lots of congratulatory messages. He was amazed at the incident. 

A person tweeted a picture, merging the photos of Yusuf and Adil side by side. He wrote 'Congratulations sir @_AdilHussain on winning silver at Olympics 2024 for Turkey. Respect.

The actor found it funny. He told Hindustan Times, “I don't think the post was by mistake. I think it was done knowingly. I was surprised and amazed.” He also said that he and Yusuf had no similarities other than glasses and grey hair. But he is sure that the post was just for fun, and he enjoyed it.

Adil replied to the tweet. He wrote, “Wish this was true... Maybe it's not too late to start practicing... Since I have the attitude I need to work on the skill set now..”

Adil is now seen in the film Ulajh, also starring Janhvi Kapoor. The film was released on August 2.
