If rumours are to be believed, Mammootty will be working with director Vysakh on a new movie, titled Adipidi Jose. Written by Midhun Manuel Thomas, who directed Anjaam Pathiraa, the upcoming film is said to be a mass comedy entertainer, with Mammootty playing a character similar to that in Kottayam Kunjachan.

The Malayalam superstar recently finished shooting for his upcoming horror movie Bramayugam, and is expected to join the Vysakh project after completing his cameo portions in Yatra 2. The Vysakh-Mammootty film is scheduled to go on floors in October.

Nayanthara and Anbariv are also part of Adipidi Jose?

It is said that Nayanthara will feature as the female lead in Adipidi Jose. She previously worked with Mammootty in Puthiya Niyamam, which was directed by AK Sajan. Meanwhile, stunt choreographers Anbariv - who were part of successful projects K.G.F., Vikram and more recently RDX: Robert Dony Xavier - are also expected to be part of Adipidi Jose.

Mammootty-Vysakh collaborations

Vysakh’s debut film Pokkiri Raja had Mammootty in the lead. It was a commercial hit, which served as a good launch for Vysakh as a director. He then went on to direct the Mohanlal-starrer Pulimurugan. Vysakh reunited with Mammootty for the Pokkiri Raja sequel Madhura Raja, which was also successful at the box office.

Mammootty’s Kannur Squad and other projects

Kannur Squad is Mammootty’s upcoming release, in which the legendary actor will be seen as a cop. It’s an investigative drama, and the trailer hints at the journey of a group of policemen. Helmed by Roby Varghese Raj and bankrolled by Mammootty Kampany, Kannur Squad will hit the theatres on September 28.

Mammootty has a couple of other films waiting for release, including Kaathal - The Core and Bazooka. Jeo Baby’s Kaathal stars Jyothika alongside Mammootty. The movie will be released directly on an OTT platform. Meanwhile, Bazooka, a game thriller directed by Deeno Dennis, is currently in the post-production stage.
