Thanks to the stellar success of the Baahubali films Prabhas is no longer restricted to the Telugu audience. The Rebel Star rose to unprecedented heights with his titular role in S.S. Rajamouli's two-part epic and since then, the entire nation has firmly set its eyes on his work. His follow-up films, Saaho and Radhe Shyam, may not have worked the same wonders at the box office but there's no denying that Prabhas is arguably the most bankable Indian movie star in business today.
The Adipurush actor enjoys enviable fame across the country and the region of Karnataka is a prominent feature of his success so far. Although Karnataka, as a box office market, has been highly welcoming for non-Kannada stars over the years, Prabhas has a special place etched out for himself here. And turns out, he is the only non-Kannada actor to boast not one but two Rs. 10 crores(+) opening-day grossers in Karnataka.

Yes, Prabhas' popularity is such that he even offers stiff competition to Kannada superstars like Kiccha Sudeep, Darshan Thoogudeepa, Puneeth Rajkumar, Yash etc. The Telugu actor's Baahubali: The Conclusion arrived in Karnataka cinema halls with a lot of expectations and ended up grossing close to Rs. 20 crores in the state. Similarly, Saaho wreaked havoc at the Karnataka box office by collecting over Rs. 12.5 crores.
The only other non-Kannada actors with Rs. 10 cr.(+) opening day numbers are Jailer actor Rajinikanth and RRR stars Jr. NTR & Ram Charan.
As far as Prabhas' next Adipurush is concerned, the whole nation is currently prepping for the grand release of the trailer of the film. The Om Raut epic, which stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in the lead, comes as an opulent 3D reimagination of the mythology tale of Ramayana and is set to release across the world on June 16. But before that, the film will debut at the highly reputed Tribeca Festival as part of the Escape from Tribeca section.
The trailer, too, is set to come out on a massive stage and will have special theatrical screenings across the country. The occasion offers a special chance for Prabhas' fans to catch a special glimpse of the film in 3D on May 9 with more than 70 countries as part of the roster. Many would wish to watch the trailer not only to experience the three-dimensional magic that Om Raut & co. have promised but also to verify whether the film holds up to the technological standards it has been mounted on. Many would also recall the criticism that team Adipurush received after the first video teaser of the film was released, which mainly addressed the subpar visual effects.
