Prabhas-Kriti Sanon's Adipurush is one of the most awaited films in recent times. The period drama is all set to release on the 16th of June, 2023 and the pre-release event happened on the 6th of June in Tirupathi. Fans turned out in huge numbers for this event which was held on a massive scale.
On the other hand, the pre-release business of Adipurush has been locked at humongous amounts, and especially in Telugu, things have gone to the next level. We have come to know that the theatrical rights of the film have been sold for 150 crores. The period drama was sold for 60 crores in the Nizam area, 70 crores in Andra Pradesh, and 20 crores in the ceded area.
This is the highest business ever for a Prabhas film so far in his career. So, to be in a safe zone, Adipurush needs to cross the 150 crore mark at the box office in Telugu states. This is a very big amount and can only be possible if the film opens with a blockbuster talk from the first show itself. As the film is based on Ramayana, a wide section of the audience will show interest to watch the film on the big screen.
We have also come to know that Pushpa and Veera Simha Reddy fame Mythri Movie Makers have bought the rights to the film in the Nizam area. There was a tough fight between producer Dil Raju and Mythri Banner and finally, the rights were bagged by Mythri Movie Makers. Om Raut directs this film which is high on VFX.
It has been quite some time since Prabhas scored a hit under his belt and by the looks of it, Adipurush has all the trappings to be one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema. Kriti Sanon plays Sita Devi in Adipurush and Saif Ali Khan has been kept away from the promos. We need to see if he gets good screen time in the new trailer that will be launched later today.
