Adipurush: Prabhas teases fans with powerful poster, confirms theatrical release date

Telugu superstar Prabhas delighted fans on Tuesday by revealing a captivating new poster for his highly-anticipated film Adipurush. The poster showcases Prabhas portraying the iconic character of Lord Ram, mounted atop the mighty Hanuman, engaging in battle with his enemies. To add to the excitement, Prabhas accompanied the poster with a Sanskrit shloka and reminded the fans that the movie's theatrical release is now just one month away.

Adipurush will open in cinemas worldwide in multiple languages on June 16.

Director Om Raut's highly-anticipated big-screen adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana, Adipurush, was originally scheduled for release in January this year, coinciding with the Sankranti celebrations this year. However, the teaser's debut, which was unveiled last year at a grand event in Uttar Pradesh, left many fans disappointed and caught off guard.

Fans were expecting a live-action movie, but instead, they were presented with a live-animation film with half-baked special effects, which caused negative reactions and led to a massive PR crisis. To address the issue, the filmmakers had to postpone the release and invest significant time, effort, and resources in improving the film's quality.

The trailer's release carried a crucial responsibility as it aimed to restore the audience's faith in the movie and generate positive buzz around it. The trailer was touted as a litmus test for the film's success at the box office.

Although the trailer received a more positive response than the teaser, many remained partially convinced. The filmmakers changed the film's colour palette and increased the number of CGI shots to make it appear more dynamic. However, some fans were quick to point out that these cosmetic changes were an attempt to conceal the movie's original flaws.

Besides Prabhas, Adipurush also stars Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan.
