Only a few days ago, Om Raut and co. got the whole nation hooked on the 'Jai Shri Ram' song from the upcoming film Adipurush. The song, which celebrates and eulogizes Lord Rama for his many triumphs, became an instant rage among netizens with each of the five versions commanding its own share of love and adoration. The video version of Jai Shri Ram has already clocked over 113 million views on YouTube with Ajay-Atul, the music composer duo, receiving a lot of plaudits from internet users.
The Kannada version, sung by a chorus of several singers and V. Nagendra Prasad writing the lyrics, contributed as many as 2 million views, despite being a dubbed rendition.
Second Single from Adipurush
As the countdown for the mega worldwide release of the film continues, the makers have released the second from the soundtrack. Titled Ram Siya Ram in Hindi and Ram Sita Ram in the other four languages (Kannada, Telugu, Tamil & Malayalam), the song attempts to capture the pristine love, trust and commitment that exist between Raghava and Janaki. The video version of the song, aside from boasting breathtaking visuals, shines a light on the many travails of the prince of Ayodhya to rescue and protect the love of his life from the clutches of the king of Lanka, Ravana.
Kannada Version Enraptures Listeners
'Ram Sita Ram' has been receiving a lot of praise from netizens who seem quite delighted by the tender and emotional nature of the song. The Kannada version, especially, is being hailed as the better of the dubbed lot with a few Telugu listeners, too, opining that the Kannada lyrics do complete justice to the underlying sentiments. Pramod Maravanthe, best known for penning the lyrics of melodies like Singara Siriye from Kantara and Innu Bekagide from Mundina Nildana, doesn't only translate the original Hindi lyrics to Kannada but reinterprets the universally known story of Rama and Sita and underlines the montages.
