Prabhas, like always before the release of his films, is staying detached from the result of Adipurush and is vacationing in the US with his friends while it’s set to test its fortunes in theatres across the globe this Friday. Om Raut has directed the mythological drama, produced by T Series, Retrophiles, UV Creations that also stars Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, Devadatta Nage and Sunny Singh.
Meanwhile, the film looks set for a bumper opening in the range of Rs 80-100 crore on the opening day. The epic drama has crossed the $800k mark with its advance booking collections in the US. The Hindi version of the biggie alone is expected to earn Rs 25-30 crores on the first day. Sky could be the limit if this pre-release buzz is rightly backed by impressive storytelling.
Sharing a glimpse of the buzz for the film across North India, the makers unveiled a video today. The video takes you to various theatres in Kolkata, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Pune, Aurangabad and Haryana where crowds queue up in big numbers for the tickets of Adipurush. They’re also seen chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram’ holding their ticket and expressing their excitement for the film.
Borrowing a leaf out of Pathaan, the makers have opted for muted promotional strategy across the country, trusting the star power of the lead actors and the buzz for the film and organised only one major event prior to its release in Tirupathi. Saif Ali Khan has been mysteriously missing from the publicity activity and it has disappointed the actor’s fans considerably.
Karthik Palani has cranked the camera for Adipurush while Apurva Motiwale Sahai and Ashish Mhatre are the editors. The songs, composed by Ajay-Atul and Sachet-Parampara, are growing on the audiences every passing day. Leading production houses - People Media Factory and KRG Studios - are releasing the film in the Telugu States and Karnataka respectively.
