Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who has impressed the audience with her versatile roles in films like Raazi, Gully Boy and Highway, is all set to don a new avatar of a spy in Aditya Chopra's YRF Spy Universe. The actress will be joining the league of super-agents like Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan, who have starred in the blockbuster films of the franchise such as Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War and Pathaan.

According to reports by Pinkvilla, Alia Bhatt will be the first female lead in the YRF Spy Universe and will headline the 8th film of India's biggest IP. The untitled film is expected to go on floors in 2024 and is currently in the pre-production stage. The film will be an out-and-out action entertainer with Alia Bhatt playing a super-agent who will be presented in a never-seen-before avatar.

Aditya Chopra, who launched the YRF Spy Universe in 2012 with Ek Tha Tiger, is said to be very bullish about Alia Bhatt and has big plans for her character arc in his universe. The source tells the portal, "Aditya Chopra is very bullish about Alia and has big plans for her character arc in his universe. He is looking to start a franchise within the Spy Universe centered around Alia’s character and he will pull all stops to mount the yet untitled film on a scale that none can imagine."

Alia Bhatt, who is also set to mark her Hollywood debut with the action-thriller, Heart of Stone opposite Gal Gadot, is soon to be seen on the silver screen opposite Ranveer Singh in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Directed by Karan Johar, the film promises a romantic drama and also stars Shabana Azmi, Dharmendra, and Jaya Bachchan.
