Aditya Roy Kapur, now dubbing for The Night Manager's second instalment, has no objections about returning to the realm of the crime thriller. After all, the series, a remake of the same-titled 2016 British series starring Tom Hiddleston, has brought Aditya favourable reviews and a brand-new following.
The actor told Mid Day that he has been working hard for a while. Aditya has therefore witnessed the ups and downs that characterise an actor's life. People responded positively because they liked the show's setting. There are some folks who have developed a fresh perspective on him. Although the actor has always known what he is capable of, it's good that the audience is now aware as well.
Anil Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala, and others are in the Disney+ Hotstar production in which Aditya plays the manager of a fancy hotel who is hired to catch a weapons dealer. The actor claims that the tone of his portrayal presented a difficulty. He had the opportunity to experiment with a tone he hadn't used before in this context. Considering the writing and setting of the piece, the performance had a distinct tone.
When asked why he did not take on a project like this earlier, Aditya said he is content with making the risky move with his first OTT business. As an actor, one wants to do new things. Sometimes, the people watching them are unsure what they want to see. Such risks must be taken for them to see a side of you they were unaware of.
Meanwhile, Aditya has a new film, Gumraah, which hit the big screen on Friday. The film is the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Thadam, and it features the actor in a double role.
