The next from Maddock Supernatural Universe is up for release and it is quite an exciting one, for it introduces a new supernatural being to the world. Titled Thama, the Aditya Sarpotdar directorial features Ayushmann Khurrana as a vampire, who will go up against 'Bhediya' Varun Dhawan (Badlapur), but he essentially belongs in the Stree World. Interestingly, Munjya also belonged to the Stree World. Aditya Sarpotdar made such revelations, while confirming that Thama is not a horror-comedy, and more in a recent interview. Here's everything he said...

Thama not a horror-comedy

Aditya Sarpotdar confirmed that Thama is not a horror-comedy unlike other films coming out of the Maddock Supernatural Universe. "It is a romantic film with certain supernatural elements backing it," the director confirmed in an interview with Zoom. He insisted that the movie is mainly comedy with romance being the central theme. The director also shared that it was a decision taken since the Maddock Supernatural Universe delivered enough horror-comedies in the recent past (Stree, Bhediya and Munjya).

Sarpotdar compared his upcoming film Thama to Munjya and said that while the movie starring Abhay Verma and Sharvary was deeply rooted in folklore, Thama is a mythical romantic-comedy. "Munjya was more local because it was married to a folklorish character," the director said, adding that Munjya came from the heart of Konkan.
