After Akhanda 2, Sanjay Dutt signs Sai Dharam Tej's next, here's what we know

Gone are the days when Hindi actors starring in Telugu films were a rarity. With Telugu cinema now reaching out to global audiences, Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Bobby Deol, and others are making their way into Tollywood.

Sanjay Dutt signs a Tollywood biggie

Recently, we at OTTplay reported that Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt had been roped in for a key role in Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2. The news has now been confirmed, and Dutt is set to join the film’s sets soon. But that’s not all, following Akhanda 2, the veteran actor has also signed another Telugu film, Sambarala Yeti Gattu, featuring mega hero Sai Dharam Tej.

The film was announced a few months ago, and Sai Tej’s rugged, chiselled look from the project went viral. Now, the makers have officially brought Sanjay Dutt on board. Director Rohit met Dutt during his visit to Hyderabad a few days ago and narrated the script.

Sambarala Yeti Gattu details

Reports suggest that the Khalnayak star was highly impressed with his character and immediately gave his nod. Industry buzz also indicates that the makers offered Dutt a hefty paycheck, further influencing his decision to sign the project.

Sambarala Yeti Gattu is a mystical thriller with a unique world of its own. Being made on a massive ₹100 crore budget, the film’s primary shoot is taking place on grand sets at Ramoji Film City. Sources reveal that Dutt’s role requires only two weeks of filming, after which his part will be wrapped up.

The film stars Aishwarya Lekshmi as the female lead. Currently, an intense action sequence is being shot, and Sanjay Dutt is expected to join the sets soon. Despite his Telugu debut, Double iSmart, flopping, Dutt is now making major inroads into Tollywood. Stay tuned for more updates.
