Vicky Kaushal is one of the most popular actors in the industry. He was recently seen in Laxman Utekar's Chhaava, which became a blockbuster. In the film, Vicky played the historical role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and received a lot of praise. Apart from Chhaava, the actor has also done real-life characters in Sardar Udham and Sam Bahadur. Now, Olympian Sharath Kamal recently expressed his desire to see Vicky in his biopic.
During a recent conversation with Free Press Journal, Olympian Sharath Kamal was asked whom he wants to see play him in a biopic. He named Vicky Kaushal without hesitation. However, Sharath also shared that he plans to first write a book about his journey before a film. “Writing gives you clarity," he explained. “It helps paint the complete picture. Once that’s done, maybe a movie will happen. But honestly, I don’t know if my sport is popular enough for the industry to pick it up," he said.

For the film's cast, Sharath had one condition and that was that the actor had to be tall. "So, we can probably have Vicky Kaushal," he said.
He is a former Indian table tennis player and Olympian, Sharath Kamal, who recently retired after a 22-year career. The five-time Olympian, a 10-time national champion, and a recipient of the Padma Shri and Khel Ratna awards also bagged seven gold medals at the Commonwealth Games.
Apart from these, Sharath also represented India as the flag bearer at the 2024 Paris Olympics. According to Free Press Journal, after retiring, Sharath Kamal will continue to contribute to the sport as the Co-Chair of the ITTF Athletes' Commission and an ITTF Foundation ambassador.
Vicky, who was recently seen in Chhaava, has Love & War in the pipeline. Also starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles, the film, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, will be released in 2026. The film has been described as a romantic drama set against a war backdrop, possibly depicting a love triangle between two army officers.
