After criticising actors' demands, Anurag Kashyap praises Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan! Here's why

Anurag Kashyap is currently gearing up for his upcoming project Bad Cop also starring Gulshan Devaiah. Recently in an interview, the filmmaker and actor spoke about the three Khans - Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aamir Khan. He talked about how they are all cost-conscious while making their films. The director also revealed that all of them do not charge for their film but make money from the backend such as profit sharing ratio or selling rights of the film. 

Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Anurag Kashyap said, “Main bade actors ke saath kaam nahi karta, lekin sabse jyada cost conscious industry mein humare teen bade stars hai- Shah Rukh, Salman aur Aamir. ((I don’t work with big actors. But the most cost-conscious stars in the industry today are the three Khans. Shah Rukh, Salman, and Aamir do not charge fees). He further added that they earn from the backend earnings. Their films are not expensive.

Meanwhile, for the uninitiated, Kashyap recently made headlines when he spoke on stars’ demands and high entourage costs. In an interview with Humans of Cinema, he said that a lot of money that goes into a film's production isn’t actually spent on making the movie but on catering to the demands of stars. In the same interview, the filmmaker also talked about the tendency of fans to hero-worship actors in the film industry. Decoding the psychology of fans, he said that while Hollywood has superheroes like Iron Man and Hulk, Hindi films rely on megastars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan instead.

He added, "We don’t need Iron Man and Hulk. We have Sunny Deol—what is Hulk in front of him? This is in all of us; we need heroes to feel better about ourselves. We fantasise about this. An average Indian dreams about doing something heroic.”
