Chiranjeevi fans are anxiously keeping their eyes peeled for updates regarding the star’s upcoming film, Godfather. The movie is the Telugu remake of Mohanlal’s 2019 film, Lucifer. It seems that Chiranjeevi is also gearing up to star in the remake of another Mohanlal starrer as well.
According to a report on IANS, it is being speculated that Chiranjeevi will star in the Telugu remake of Bro Daddy. The 2022 film starred Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles, with the latter also serving as the director. Prithviraj had also directed Lucifer as well. The movie, which marked his directorial debut, can be streamed on Disney+Hotstar.
Earlier, there had been reports that D. Suresh Babu was planning to acquire the rights to remake the Malayalam film in Telugu. The producer was reportedly eyeing to cast his son, Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh in the roles essayed by Prithviraj and Mohanlal in the original.
Chiranjeevi is currently working on Godfather, in which he will essay the role played by Mohanlal in the original. The upcoming film also stars Nayanthara as the female lead. Salman Khan will also play a crucial role in an extended cameo in the film, which marks his Tollywood debut. Salman is expected to recreate some of his iconic action sequences for the film.
Sunil, Satyadev Kancharana and Biju Menon, among others, will also feature in the film. Godfather is written and directed by Mohan Raja and produced by RB Choudary and NV Prasad under the banners of Konidela Production Company and Super Good Films.
Meanwhile Chiranjeevi, who was last seen in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, is awaiting the release of his films such as Acharya and Bholaa Shankar.
