Vivek Athreya is collaborating with Nani for the second time after Ante Sundaraniki
After a physically, mentally stressful film like Dasara and promoting it across the country, Nani wasted little time in moving onto the shoot of his next film - Hi Nanna. Hi Nanna team was so meticulous with the execution that they could comfortably advance the release by a couple of weeks to December 7 without compromising on quality. A brief break post Hi Nanna, Nani is back to work.
Nani is reuniting with his Ante Sundaraniki director Vivek Athreya for an action drama titled Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. DVV Entertainment, the banner behind Pawan Kalyan’s OG and RRR, is bankrolling the film that also features SJ Suryah as the antagonist and Priyanka Mohan as the female lead. The latter had also worked with Nani for Vikram K Kumar’s action comedy Gang Leader earlier.
On a high after Hi Nanna’s success, Nani and Priyanka Mohan have resumed working on Saripodhaa Sanivaaram today as part of an extensive schedule being held in Hyderabad. In an image shared by the team, a crew member is seen sounding the clapboard as Nani sports formal wear with stubble while Priyanka, donning a chudidaar, is lost in her thoughts. Sai Kumar is also part of the film.
Murali G, who worked on Vijay Deverakonda’s Kushi this year, is the cinematographer while Jakes Bejoy composes the music (his first for a Nani film). Pushpa fame Karthika Srinivas is the editor of the film. In an earlier chat with OTTplay.com, Vivek Athreya shared that he’s looking to reinvent himself as a filmmaker with the project and move beyond his comfort zone.
Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is expected to release in the second half of 2024. While Nani is in talks with multiple filmmakers for his upcoming projects - including a project with Dasara director Srikanth Nagothi, Hit 3 with Sailesh Kolanu, there’s no official confirmation about his next project. Priyanka Mohan is also the leading lady in DVV Entertainment’s other biggie OG, directed by Sujeeth.
